3,800 Year Old Black Magician Apprehended By Dubai Customs

Further information has come to light via www.emirates247.com regarding a black magician who was apprehended by customs officers at Dubai international airport.

As we previoulsy reported, a man entering Dubai was detained and subsequently banned from entering the UAE for life after being found to be wearing an unusually large amount of belts which were deemed to be for the purposes of 'black magic.'

Hassan Ibrahim, Senior Inspection Officer with Dubai Customs recounts the tale and says that when the man was asked where he was from, he insisted that he was not born, but he was created  in Dubai!

The conversation apparently went thus :-

Duty Officer: “How are you? Where are you from?”
Passenger: “I am from here.”
Duty Officer: (Surprised) “What do you mean, from here?”
Passenger: “From the UAE.”
Duty Officer: “Which part of the UAE are you from?”
Passenger:  “I was created in the UAE 3,800 years ago.

The reportedly 'high level black magician' continued to assert his story even though his appearance was said to be African and he held an African passport, although he did speak in classical Arabic throughout the conversation.

Inspectors state that among the possessions of the man were heads and tails of dead snakes, animal bones, the head of a rooster, animal skins, ampoules of blood and lots of paper marked with symbols drawn in saffron and blood.  Obviously not a standard chefs stock larder.

The man started out by being a little confrontational and threatened to put a curse on the customs officer if he did not comply with his wishes.  The officer, Hassan Ibrahim, a striking fellow who doesn't look like someone you might want to mess around with states that he explained that procedure needed to be followed and he would be processed according to local statute.

The man then had his personal effects confiscated and was subsequently given a lifetime ban from entering UAE in the future.

The answer to the question in our headline is of course, quite obviously, no, but that won't stop us from picking over the bones of the story of yet another 'witchcraft scare' to see what lies therein.

The scare was caused when a baboon reportedly ran into a homestead in the village of Piggs Peak and tried opening a garage door.

The report in The Times Of Swaziland tells us that the baboon was first spotted by watchman Mandla Maseko when it was approaching a main road - “One of my dogs started barking loudly and violently. At first, I did not suspect anything but continued with my journey. After a couple of minutes, all the dogs followed suit and started barking as well and upon further inspection, I noticed that they had spotted the baboon,” Maseko explained.

Maseko then set his dogs on the baboon following the chase himself from behind.  The now probably terrified baboon passed a number of homesteads before finding one to enter.  A crowd soon gathered to watch how things would progress.

Maseko said after entering the homestead, the baboon went to the garage and tried opening the garage door but it failed. It then ran towards the homestead’s pit latrine where it eventually hid.
The residents followed and stood by the pit latrine’s door, thinking that the animal would come out. It remained inside for a couple of minutes but later tried to squeeze itself out through a small window but failed. It would now and again show its upper limbs as it tried to come out of the pit latrine. Maseko, who was carrying an axe, took advantage of this and hit the baboon’s limbs.

Thereafter, it made a deafening sound before forcefully pushing its way out of the pit latrine, sending those standing at the entrance to all directions. The animal tried to run away but the dogs chased it. The baboon fought back and one of the dogs was injured.
In a bid to save his dogs, Maseko is said to have approached the now fighting baboon and tried to hit it with the axe. It became more violent and it bit him in his right leg.
Seeing that the situation could turn nasty, Maseko made another attempt to hit the baboon, much harder this time. Indeed, he hit it on the head and it lost strength and later died.

Maseko then took the baboon to his homestead where they skinned and cooked it, before eating it with other residents. “The meat was very nice,” said Maseko.


Hmmm....I can't, just can't see any witchcraft in this story anywhere at all but apparently villagers are still talking in hushed tones that the practice of witchcraft is to blame.  Just a baboon terrified by howling dogs trying to find safety before being killed for din dins. Let's hope they don't imagine they find a culprit who they think has been practicing witchcraft!

Today's round up of deluded dupes takes us first to Malaysia, where a man held his wife, mother and three daughters captive for over seven hours after accusing the two adult females of using black magic on him according to thestar.com.my. The police were alerted by neighbors after they heard cries from women in the house and they were unable to get a reply when knocking at the door.

The lead police negotiator told reporters that he tried to 'use religion to pacify the man to lay down his weapon and surrender but that didn't work.'

He also added that he 'noticed during the negotiation, the man was mumbling weird chants and knew this was a non-negotiable case.'

The siege was satisfactorily concluded, although all of the hostages sustained minor injuries, according to the report.

A bizarre tale which perhaps has lost something in translation reaches us via gulf-times.com. The report recounts a tale of a Pakistani man who has been sentenced to death for murder by a court in Doha.

The man apparently used to 'accompany' his victim on car journeys to 'various places.'  According to the article, the victim decided to 'break up' with his traveling companion and future murderer at which point the accused traveled back to his home country where he used 'black magic' in order to get their friendship 'back on track.'

The report goes on to say that ' This never worked out, so he started a fight with [the] victim when he came back to Doha and killed him.'

 Hmmm......

Meanwhile, at Dubai airport, emirates247.com tell us that a man has been detained for suspected sorcery, although the report does not elaborate on his fate.  The man was detained on suspicion of witchcraft after arriving from Africa whilst wearing twenty belts around his waist.  The belts made from, amongst other things,  animal skin, animal bones and papers with symbols written on them, also had 'improved buckles' and locks meaning that they were for permanent wear.

Further examination of the travelers luggage also revealed he was carrying 'candles, a couple of belts, dead scorpions, a rope made of braided human hair and drawings with unusual symbols.'

Hassan Ibrahim, Senior Inspections Officer at Dubai Customs told reporters 'These practices are completely illegal in our country, against our regulations, and these sorcerers are dangerous to our society and a threat to the safety of the UAE.'

BREAKING NEWS: School Closed Down Due To 'Satanic Blood Rites'

Over in Zimbabwe, Zinatsa Secondary School in Chivhu has closed for business after an alleged Satanic scare involving pupils and teachers.

The report, which reaches us from zimeye.com alleges that a couple who have been teaching at the school and as yet have not been publicly named have been using the children at the school as a source of blood, which parents assume is being used in satanic and witchcraft ritual.

The scare occurred after one child claimed that he had been beaten up and then had his blood forcibly taken into a small bottle.

After the claim was made public, parents descended on the school to remove their children.  The school was subsequently closed and the headmaster has been unavailable for comment due to 'being in meetings.'

Zinatsa Secondary School is apparently the fourth school in Zimbabwe to be closed down due to satanic scares in the last three years.

India - State Government To Enact Law Banning Black Magic

Sanity continues to shine in the face of madness in India, where the Minister for Home, Ramesh Chennithala, has announced that the state government is intending to enact a law 'to stop the practise (sic) of witchcraft or black magic,' according to thehindu.com.

 In a stunning display of conflating issues, looseness of language and just plain sloppy thinking, the minister said the 'police had received several complaints from people of exploitation by witchcraft practitioners.'

It is doubtful that there is anything as complicated as black magic rituals or witchcraft occurring in these cases of course.  However, what these cases more than likely entails is nefarious individuals using the cover of black magic and the occult to fleece people of their hard earned cash in return for some irresistible reward such as success in business or the promise of everlasting life in the hereafter.

Whilst we agree that people need to be educated to a standard that allows them to understand that they are being duped for their cash, if they are still then foolish enough to give up their hard earned cash for intangible rewards, that's their look out.

After all, Billy Graham got away with it for years and is still free in the United States after 96 years of religious scamming.
