Meanwhile, on a planet, a planet not too far from your own...... - Alan Partridge and The Return of The Exorcists

Sane people of this world, you will be pleased to know, that a once almost extinct creature, is in the midst of a triumphant resurgence.  Back in 1991, a full year before a young Steve Coogan was spotted at Castlemorton Free Festival in what appeared to be the break down of society as we knew it (and before anybody had learned to pick up their litter at festivals,) as difficult to believe as it is, there were only 12 exorcists left in Italy.

Of course, it is wholly possible that this very lack of suitably qualified clergy to expunge the devil from the souls of our young, would be grocked by a wider audience following the satanic signature of the Partridgeon shapes being thrown.  Many, just like Pope Francis were inspired, realising nothing less than spritual warfare was afoot.

The answer to this wave of insanity and debauched hedonism?

The wise need not ask, for they know the answer.

More exorcists. (For those of you who are spiritually adrift and had not yet realised)

The recruitment drive for new exorcists has been a raging success (apparently,) with over 300 members of the IAE (International Association Of Exorcists.)  The IAE is the official body of Exorcists with the Roman Catholic Church who we hear from catholicworldreport.com :-

"In June 2014 the Church’s exorcists—arguably the most isolated category of clerics, saddled with the most thankless ministry—received official recognition by the Holy See, which conferred on the International Association of Exorcists the status of a pontifical entity."

And not only do you have the IAE, we also have the ICAOE (only 200 of these nutters) who in full non abbreviated form become the International Catholic Association of Exorcists.  Now one could, if one were naive, come to the conclusion that the International Catholic Association of Exorcists were part of the Roman Catholic Church, however, this is not the case as it explains on their website :-

"We are NOT the Roman Catholic Association
Please Remember all Catholics are NOT Roman, but all Romans are Catholic.  All members are valid and hold Apostolic Succession"-

-Enough to set any right thinking persons mind to rest one would think.  One does have an inkling however, that they are using the 'Catholic' tag as it makes the badges on their exorcism robes sexier and helps with sales. Without doubt, there would be no alarm bells ringing when, on delving further through their spiritual marketing blurb, one encounters the following :-

" We typically hear from people that are turned away from other churches.  We are the last line of defense for most people.  Please explore our site, if you need assistance please reach out by phone or email"

In the past, one may have worried about the motivations of someone that joined a group who partake in therapies simialar to this little wonder we visited recently :-

Some folks (such as myself) may feel what they witnessed in the video short above was nothing less than abuse of a vulnerable female.  We can be content of course in the knowledge that there is no church that we have ever heard of that has been involved in abuse of any kind and of course, they always select the very best candidates for this sort of job.  Not being under the auspices of the Catholic Church, The ICAOE can consider membership if you are a member of the clergy and have $65 USD spare for the privilege.

What could possibly go wrong?
